Evening Class Programme 2012Current tuition fees are provided in our prospectus, or enquire at our office. Anatomy & Physiology A & BTutor: Trina Bergloff Weekday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:30pm Monday evenings from 20 February to 7 December, no classes during school holidays. Also available on Monday mornings. This course is a detailed study of the structure and function of the human body. You will learn how the body is put together and how it works. This course is a co-requisite for several of our Certificate courses. Click HERE for more information.
Awareness Through MovementTutor: Alan Blacktopp Fee: $10 per session Every Tuesday evening, 7 - 8 p.m. This ongoing programme introduces the Awareness Through Movement method developed by Moshe Feldenkrais, in which you can learn to relax and abandon habitual patterns, developing awareness, flexibility and coordination.
Massage 1, 2, 3Tutor: Jenny Allan 12 Wednesday evenings from August to November. This course provides instruction in relaxation Swedish Massage. Massage 1: basic techniques and massage of the head, neck, shoulders and feet. Massage 2: the back, arms and hands. Massage 3: legs and front torso; putting it all together to provide a full body massage to promote relaxation and a feeling of well-being.
Sports MassageTutor: Cathy Allan 6 Wednesday evenings from mid October to November. This course covers pre and post-event massage and training enhancement, the role of stretching and the maintenance of an injury-free state. You will learn to assess your client’s needs, recognise sports injuries and to apply massage techniques.
Popular daytime modulesHerbal Studies 1Tutors : Mary Allan, Geoff & Jan Speeden This course covers Botany and the growing, manufacturing and dispensing of herbs, as well as covering the herbal Materia Medica. Homoeopathic Acute PrescribingTutor : Ali Every This module studies the materia medica of homoeopathy and its repertorising and prescribing for simple acute conditions. We also look at client care and the manufacture of homoeopathic remedies. Diet & Nutrition - see Natural Medicine 1Tutor: Moana Hutana Health & WellnessTutor : Trina Bergloff-Howes Looks at the bodily requirements for nutrition, including the bodily requirement for food, the role of water in the body, macronutrients, micronutrients, and accessory nutrients. Classes on Tuesday afternoons. Eastern ModalitiesTutor : Glenda Palmer This module introduces the student to healing energy techniques from China, India, Japan and Thailand. Modalities taught include acupressure, polarity therapy, shiatsu and an introduction to Thai massage. Classes on Thursday mornings. |
