CERTIFICATE IN REFLEXOLOGYNZQA accredited, 9 weekend course Tutor: Cathy Caldwell Course contentThis course comprises 108 hours classroom time plus 36 hours practicum requirement and a final practical examination. The course provides a theoretical and practical base of knowledge in Reflexology to professional clinical application level. Reflexology is a modality using the principle that there are reflexes in the hands and feet corresponding to all parts of the body. It is a powerful touch therapy which has proven beneficial in reducing stress and bringing the body to homoeostasis (a state of balance). This therapy is natural, simple and effective. This course focuses primarily on Foot Reflexology providing practical hands-on learning and theory. Contents include history and theory, terminology, client history and clinical observations, relaxing techniques, application and effect of reflexology, anatomy and physiology, pathology, special locations, hand, ear and foot integration, and psychology of the feet. A basic knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology is an advantage but some aspects will be taught in conjunction with practical classes. For those planning to be professional reflexologists, successful completion of Level 4 course-work in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology is required for registration with Reflexology New Zealand Inc. An appropriate course in anatomy and physiology is offered by the Lotus Holistic Centre (A & P A & B, taught on Mondays 9.00 am - 12 noon or 6.30 pm - 9.30pm). HoursModules will be held on nine weekends during 2012. Saturday and Sunday, 9.30am to 4.30pm
