Entry Criteria for Diploma and Degree programmesEITHER Minimum of four years secondary education with passes in English, biology and science. OR Be over 20 years of age and satisfy the Directors that your learning needs will not place an unreasonable burden on the teaching staff and/or other students. AND Provide two clear references from referees of your choice who are not related to you - we provide a form for them to complete and send back to us. AND Pass a simple written assessment which will be carried out at the time of the interview. This comprises a basic learning / recall activity and two comprehension tests. A good standard of written English is required. Entry criteria for Certificate in Wellness MassageThis recently added course has slightly different entry criteria. Students must be aged 16 or over, have 8 credits NCAE English and biology/science level 1 or equivalent, and satisfy the directors that they are likely to succeed.
Requirements for GraduationIn order to be awarded any of the Diplomas or Certificates, the student shall:
A student who is unsuccessful in a unit or module will normally be allowed to re-enrol. FULL TIME DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES The full-time diploma programmes are tertiary level courses with a high academic standard. Students are in class for 20 - 22 hours per week, and MUST commit to a further ten hours or more per week home study for successful course completion. Various tests and examinations must be passed in order to satisfy the course requirements. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)Students may cross-credit relevant Unit Standards previously achieved. Students who have previously achieved some of the competencies involved in the courses are eligible to apply for recognition of prior learning. This could be done by:-
There will be a charge for any RPL process of $50.00 per hour. Please note, Lotus Diploma in Therapeutic Massage graduates enrolling in the·Bachelor of Natural Medicine can expect to have RPL for A&P 1 and Massage Modalities. EvaluationStudents are responsible for punctuality, regular attendance and timely completion of all written and practical course work. Paper work may include: completed class evaluations, case studies, assignments, tests and examinations, or other documentation at the tutors' discretion. Withdrawal & Refund PolicyA student may withdraw from a programme by giving written notice to the Directors. After two weeks there will be no refund and full course fees are owed. At the Director's discretion, places may be kept "on hold" for students with extenuating circumstances, so that they can return in the following year. |
